The HDT VK Commodores were the most prolific of the HDT range, with a large variety of different models and options for even the most discerning buyer. The two most popular models in the VK range were the VK Group 3 and VK Group A. The Group 3 was the rarer of the two, with 200 examples being built in only white or silver.
The New Generation HDT VK Group 3 Retro follows the same recipe as the original, offering gorgeous lines, tough, bold body kit and Aero wheels, now in a very modern 19x8in sizing. As per the original, a rearward facing bonnet scoop and optional wind splitters are offered, completely changing the front profile of the vehicle, and making it a very unique on-road statement.
Under the bonnet, HDT engineers have optioned up the performance with HDT cat-back exhaust system which include HDT extractors with twin 3 inch stainless HDT branded exhaust tips. Which liberates an additional 10kW and releases the beautiful V8 noise which is so often lacking in the modern motoring landscape. A range of further peformance options are available to build the Group 3 into a very rapid cross-country machine, including camshaft and ECU upgrades, each specifically tailored by HDT.
HDT’s Dynamically Enhanced Sports Suspension does wonders to both the ride and handling, with Sports gas pressure shocks being fitted, along with HDT coil-springs to both lower the ride height and firm up the road-holding. Further enhancing this on-road ability are the 19in Aero wheels and low-profile rubber, with several multi-piston braking and suspension upgrade options available to further increase this vehicle’s talents.
